A Cold Winter Day [Brac Pack 25] Siren Publishing Everlasting Classic ManLove edition by Lynn Hagen Literature Fiction eBooks
This was book 25 in the "Brac Pack" series. Malcolm" Pa" Lakeland has watched most of his 7 son's find their mates and he never thought the day would come when he would find one. Luke is running for his life and the life of his 5 month old son Luke is a wood elf and the leader wants to take his son away from him. When pa gets a call from Maverick asking him to help with the kids at the rec center he finds it strange but he goes anyway. Pa finds Luke in his truck half frozen along with his son Cole he takes him home he knows that Luke is his mate and although he doesn't have a problem with the fact that his mate is a man known of his sons know that he is bi. Luke doesn't know if he can trust his mate he doesn't want to bring trouble to their house. This was a good read although I would have liked to know what happened to the babies mother. I liked how the bears took care of baby Cole and the first time changing his diaper was funny all of the sons got along with Luke accept one the oldest son Riley he was very protective of his father and he didn't understand why his father changed when he found his mate. I felt bad for D the vampire that the family took in he knows who is mate is and is scared of him turns out his father lied to him and his brother's show up to kill Sloane. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.Product details

A Cold Winter Day [Brac Pack 25] Siren Publishing Everlasting Classic ManLove edition by Lynn Hagen Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Lynn Hagen does it again, I love all the Brac Pack book and now have also started Brac Village and Zeus's pack. Word of caution, these really are not stand alone books although you can read them as such.
I loved it, Wenow have the Lakelands (Bear Shifters), Vampires, and Elves, I'm so addicted to these, books, with all of them pulling together, and being family. Keep these books coming
Loved it!!!! Happy that Pa Lakeland got his story,.
Lynn Hagen's stories are one of my guilty indulgences. The characters are fun, the plots interesting, and the writing is engaging and with good pacing. This particular story focuses on the Lakelands (a family of bear shifters) and the patriarch meeting his mate.
Luke is a wood elf on the run. Shanta (the elder leader of the wood elves) wants Luke's young son for some unknown reason, and Luke goes on the run, refusing to give him up. Nearly frozen and very hungry, he hides in the back of Malcolm Lakeland's pickup truck under a tarp. When Malcom arrives home and hears a child crying, he pulls back the tarp on his truck to reveal the young tyke and an unconscious Luke. Of course he instantly recognizes Luke as his mate, and this greatly surprises him. He never expected to have a mate, and certainly didn't expect that it would be a man. Being a widower, he raised seven sons, and even though he's bisexual, he just assumed if he ever did have a mate, it would be a woman.
Luke sees that Malcolm is his mate, but at the same time, doesn't want to put the Lakelands in danger by staying there. Because of that, he resists staying with Malcolm. Malcolm, on the other hand, insists that Luke stay because it's Malcolm's responsibility as his mate to protect him. He views Luke and Cole (the infant) as family, and even the brothers see Cole as a new baby brother for them. Actually, Malcolm views anyone who needs help and stays under his roof as part of his family. This tendency causes some friction with Maverick Brac, the alpha of the ruling werewolf pack within whose territory the Lakelands live, when a vampire nicknamed "D" commits a transgression against Maverick.
The story itself is fun and entertaining. There is a secondary story that is advanced slightly (that of D and his continuing refusal to accept his mate, Sloan), and it appears that D's story will be given its own title soon. Pacing is good, characterization is good, and writing style is smooth and engaging. All in all, it's a worthy addition to your Brac Pack collection. On a side note, the artists designing the covers need to work a little harder when choosing models representing the Lakelands. They're bears. They're hairy. There is a tendency to use smooth hairless models on the covers of gay stories, but for these shifters, they need to be a little more faithful to the stories, which clearly state that the Lakelands have ample chest hair. For Malcolm in particular, the model on the cover should not only have chest hair, but also appear more middle-aged since Malcolm is the father of a rather large adult family. Still, that's only a minor complaint about the cover and does nothing to detract from the engaging story Lynn Hagen has given us.
I loved this book! Simply for the fact that Pa Lakeland gets a mate in this installment of the Brac series. He of course is blindsided by a man and baby hiding in the bed of his truck almost frozen solid! He discovers the man is his mate and also an wood elf. What ensues is a highly entertaining and high drama book full of laughs and passion that only the Big Dad of the Lakeland clan can deliver! I enjoyed Pa's book, and I know you will too!
Even fated love is not a smooth journey. Fun, family, mishaps & adventures.
I love these guys, more please.
Check Lynn Hagen's site (her name.com), it will give you an authors suggested reading order.
The list encompasses 9 different series that weave together.
Each series & book can be read alone, I just like the continuity.
I'm glad that Malcom (Pa) finally gets his mate before the rest of his sons do, however, Luke (his mate) is an elf who's on the run from the leader of his tribe, Shanta. I enjoyed this one just as much as the others. D., the vampire who lives with them also has a mate (Sloan, Maverick's cousin), but since D. was raised to believe all shifters are evil he tells his brothers to kill Sloan, until later realizing that he had made a fatal mistake. Sloan was finished with him after knowing that his mate would put a hit out on him, but D. now wanted him and badly felt the pain of his mate not wanting him. I loved that subplot as much as the main story line. There's always so much danger, excitement, and passion in these stories. I'm totally addicted to the Brac Pack. This was awesome. )
