A Girl Named Blue The Adventure Begins The Adventures of Blue Faust Book 1 eBook Cecilia Randell
A Girl Named Blue: The Adventure Begins by Cecilia Randell lives up to it's name! It's a fantastic beginning to a new Reverse Harem series. Blue is starting her senior year of high school at a new school. She's started over plenty of times due to her mom's job, but this is the first year without her beloved dad. To keep herself from falling into a funk, she has created a list. This is a wish list of new experiences to help her step out of her comfort zone. It also helps force her to connect with new friends starting on Day 1. While out hiking with her new friends, they accidentally travel through a portal ending up in another world. While there they face kidnappers, clansmen, and beasts; there's danger, violence, tragedy, attractions, and possibly love. Blue is definitely out of her comfort zone, but she's also never felt so alive. There is great world building in this book. There's a complete glossary and an atlas before the story even begins. This is a detailed, multi-layered universe. The story is well-done. It's full of thrills and suspense. It's quite original. However, it's the characters in this book that make it special. Blue is delightful. She is captivating, yet has no idea how she affects the people, especially men, around her. Her dad was a wise man and she has taken his lessons to heart. She cares about other people and tries her best to make them happy. The men are all yummy. It's obvious that Forrest and Mo'ata will be part of her Prida (her little ducklings!), but I am not sure which of the other men will join them. Forrest is the perfect young man to fall in love with; an artist, sweet, smart. Mo'ata is a bit older, but he's irresistable. Then there's the complicated Jason, the hooligan Trevon, her rescuer Levi, the mercenary with a sense of humor Felix. These are all possibilities. Interesting twist to not make her choices clear. I also liked her best friends, Pre and Kevin. It was so nice to have a girl become an instant friend instead of an instant enemy to Blue.
I would have liked more detail once Blue returned to Earth. How did the disappearances play out? How was Phe able to finish her senior year? How did Jason fit in? There would have been mourning and an adjustment back to normalcy after such an experience. This is nitpicking. I enjoyed the book so much, I just wanted more. I want Forrest's last comment to take place quickly! I also want that comment followed by a kiss. Please!

A Girl Named Blue The Adventure Begins The Adventures of Blue Faust Book 1 eBook Cecilia Randell Reviews
To say I was surprised by how amazing A Girl Named Blue would be an understatement. I have had this book in my TBR pile for a really long time. It took another author of one of my favorite series recommending it for me to finally start reading it. I was hooked from the first chapter. Randell does an amazing job of creating a new world. She describes everything in such detail that you can picture everything easily. There are such amazing characters in this book. All of the men are so different that it just seems to bring more to the story. I have enjoyed reading about them so much. Blue is such a fun character to read about. I can’t wait to learn more about her and watch her grow even more. One of my favorite things about this book is trying to figure out who will be in Blue’s Harem. Obviously, I have my favorites. Honestly the only things I disliked about this book I can’t say because it will just give too much away. I will say though that you will go “Oh, you evil lady” when you read the sections that I wasn’t a huge fan of. I will admit that they made the story better and of course I couldn’t put it down until everything was settled again. Randell has made her way up to the top of my favorite’s and I will be devouring the next in this series.
I really enjoyed Book 1 in Blue and her gangs story ❤️ I liked how different Blue is as a MC and how I kinda wish I was like her more when I was her age haha (not that I am that much older!). I enjoyed the story and really loved her memories of her Dad and her. I had read some reviews while I had been listening to this on audio and thought I wasn't going to like the person everyone said they loved buuuuuuut I was totally wrong. He might have to be added to my book boyfriends list from now on (even though I keep singing Moana songs in my head every time I heard his name hahaha).
I am intrigued on what is going to happen next, already picked up the next books on audio and on ebook. Wish I had more vacation time to lose myself in this story! I would highly recommend this series and cannot wait to read more. I am confirming the authors statements about this being a slow burn. If you are looking for super hot and steamy out of the gate, this is not what you want to read right now. This story shines for its storytelling and world building (I totally want to see what Beast looks like from Cecilia's POV haha).
This is a very entertaining book. There are some editing issues, but according to the author the latest download has corrected those problems. There has been speculation as to which men will end up in Blue's Reverse Harem. I have my picks but you will need to get your copy of this book to make your choices. This is a great start to a new series and the worst part of this book recently being released is that now we have to wait for book 2! I suggest a lot of begging. That's my plan. Please, please Ms. Randall!! 😀
The previous blurb had prepared me for a straight romance book, this was anything but, and a seriously welcome addition to my growing list of "new authors to follow everything they do because I love them"
Short story, Blue is trying to be more impulsive and makes friends with two different groups who have some issue between them. Then things go nuts and you get to learn more about Blue, how she handles things, how the story will most likely take some turns you weren't expecting (and some you were) and leave you wanting more in a pleasantly fulfilled "that book was great and there wasn't a cliffhanger so i'm not going crazy right now needing to know what happened" kind of way.
No cliffhanger. This is important. But there are so many directions for this story to go and for a reverse harem, this is the first time I don't know who the guys are/will be. I have a few ideas, but only one that I'm pretty sure of, and I like the ambiguity. It's less "mystical we have an excuse for this irregularity" and more "let's follow our hearts and see where it leads"
Which is just sweet
