What a story....I never read the synopsis so I didn't know what to expect, what I got was definitely unexpected. This type of book is not usually my forte but I'm turned onto it now.We begin the story with Emalyn...long story short she is a hot mess. She has a major case of OCD.....germs and people. There is also her best friend Michelle referred to as Shell. She is Emalyn's security blanket. Shell she's past Emalyns quirks and just see's her.
We have several hotties in the story as well....there is Stuart, who is emalyn's driver and all shells lol.
Then there is Sebastian, emalyn is fond of him, but doesn't want to drag him into her world of crazy, but he also see's her and not just the quirks. All emalyn wants is to be normal.
We also have Me daddy weirdo....he is emalyn's benefactor. He is paying for everything that she needs. But there is also knew re to the story, which you will find out.
I really loved her this book...some of was hard to digest but it just made me want to read it that much more.

The Lonely edition by Tara Brown Romance eBooks Reviews
Emalyn is disturbingly damaged by horrific events that happened to her as a child. Now she's off to college with her best friend Michelle, or Shell, as she's referred to most of the time in the book. Em's AND Shell's college education is paid for by Em's secret benefactor. She doesn't know his identity. They've only spoken on the phone or texted. He even hires a driver for Emalyn, and the benefactor offers Em all the material goods she needs or wants.
Em suffers from PSTD and OCD, and the poor thing is a hot mess. She freaks out in social situations but desperately wants to live a "normal" life. She meets handsome and kind Sebastian in the gym. He's patient with Em's OCD and he eventually falls in love with her, yet she isn't emotionally equipped to return his love...yet.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat! When Em was forced to confront her emotional demons, all hell breaks loose. This part of the story left me gasping and even trembling a bit. The story is at times freakish and sexually explicit. It is not for everyone; it's certainly not for the faint of heart!
This book will stay in my head for awhile. In fact, I'm thinking I'm going to catch my breath and turn around and read it again!
I knew nothing about this book before diving in, but I could tell from the cover it was going to be a trip. Wow, where to start. I had to read how others reviewed this book to put into perspective what I thought when done. I agree with many others... the first half of this book is crazy mindf*** good! So many twists and turns that slap you upside the head with no warning! But the last half of the book? It fizzles. We are introduced to Emalyn Spicer and her friend, Michelle, as they are moving into their college dorm. Right away, we learn Emalyn has a SERIOUS case of OCD and other phobias. We're not just talking hand sanitizer OCD (although she never goes anywhere without it), but serious issues that keep her locked with the lonely, as she calls it. She's befriended by Sebastian, who although is a bit horrified by her issues, he looks past those because he wants to help fix her brokenness. Em attempts to embrace this relationship with Sebastian to seek out a bit of normal. But... then we're introduced to Em's benefactor, who has been protecting Em and providing all her financial support, but only through text and phone. Then... we start to get peaks into what exactly has happened to Em that turned her into the crazy she is. OMG, some of this stuff literally had me grinding my teeth!! It's brutal. It's horrifically traumatic. It's soooo ugly. It's no wonder she's the way she is. And then, all her worst fears rear their ugly head when she's forced back into her isolation. I wanted to cry for Emalyn so badly! How ironic this was everything she can't cope with. But then I kinda figured out what was happening, and this is where the book starts tanking. The first half was so thriller packed, but the last half just got super confusing. The relationship between Sebastian, Eli and Em just really didn't make sense anymore. It was almost like Sebastian was an after thought and Eli just kinda got icky. Emalyn's behavior was also confusing, but I get that she was literally battling two different parts of herself. I'm going to give this 4-stars, because the storyline was pretty unique, it's just the ending got messy. And the book literally just ended on a dime. The second book is simply from Eli's POV.
